I read this book on vacation recently and it was recommended to me by a good friend. I remember him telling me that his sister read it and changed her mind on how she's gonna raise her daughter going further and he had hoped I would learn and unlearn a few things. The dictionary definition of Feminism is: "the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes" Feminism has gotten a lot of bad press, especially on social media. For a second I thought it was just women against men. This book does away with that myth or outlook in the most simple and informative way. In this book, Chimamanda writes back to an old friend who recently had a daughter and wants to know how she can raise her a feminist and she does that by giving her fifteen practical suggestions. The suggestions are so informative, not only that but eye-opening for me as a woman and made me realize how differently girls are raised from boys not for any other reason but for the fact that they were born female. I highly recommend this book, especially for mothers who are raising both girls and boys. I hope that this the first step to raising a different and informed generation, one that questions why things are done the way they are done. Thank you for catching up with me over this book -Arehone
